Clan 187 was founded a late summer night in 1998, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Some CS players from a little PC-café joined forces and is now known and feared as [187].
The number of members was quickly growing and after a few months we had loads of members, some more familiar than others.
In the beginning [187] was all about fun and gaming in the company of good mates - of cause it still is. With the skills and experience growing, so did the lust for expanding [187].
For a long time, the little PC-café was the gathering spot of 187, and all of the members often met up there for some friendly gaming.
After a while the friendship of the core members improved, and we now shared things besides CS. With the serious intentions, we started cutting out members with low relations and few presentations with [187], and the demands for joining our clan got a lot higher. We were only taking in members we knew very well, and knew we could trust with representing the values of [187]. This may sound very noble, but loads of people were trash taking each other, both in the PC-café and in the servers we were playing in, and that’s why it was important to us, to know that all [187] members were behaving maturely.
From the beginning there were two clan leaders, Chefen and Evil. Some problems emerged between the two and it ended up with a break up between them. Evil left the clan and since then, Chefen has been the only CL. It actually never caused any problems, as [187] has always been a democracy, where every man is heard, so decisions regarding [187] were dealt with in the same way.
[187] were running steadily for some time, until a tragic thing happened. We lost one of our members for real. [187] Smolle^ died and left an empty space in [187]. Smolle^ was fun to be around and always boosting the spirit. Smolle hadn’t been in [187] that long but it was still hard to understand that we wouldn’t see him any more.
As the time went by, we evolved as a clan and the CS was going great. 187 were playing the Danish ladder on clanbase and we were doing pretty well. As the time went by, some problems between the PC-café and [187] grew big and finally we decided to stop playing there. We didn’t really find a new place (PC-café), to play from and the member slowly began to get some stable internet connections and shortly after [187] was no longer playing LAN all the time. For some time we didn’t played cws or pcws but mostly FFA on different servers.
As a clan we weren’t that active. At the beginning of 2004 we started playing clanbase again and all the members were eager to get started for real once again. After just a few months we were back at full power.
After the break, only the core members were left in [187], the core members being; Chefen, Zinger, Crazy, Mr.Smooth, Msr and LaZ. This was the team playing all the matches for a long time.
In the spring 2006, [187] teamed up with some old mates from the old clan [YG] (Young Guns). YG and [187] had played loads of pcws in the past and we had a great relationship with them. FiF and Laps joined [187] and the warteam right away. And due to the old relations we didn’t have big problems adjusting to one another. A third member from the old YG, Kris, was playing in Talion at the time and joined [187] in December 2006.
New members joining, old members leaving. This time a member left the warteam for a happy occasion. Msr became a passive member for the happy reason of marriage. Congratulations to Msr and his newly wedded wife.
All in all 187 is all about the gaming alongside fellow members and friends and having a great time.
